# Exiting Fiscal Sponsorship

Determining the right time to leave your fiscal sponsor isn't always straightforward, and there are many reasons organizations choose to exit their sponsor. Most fiscally sponsored organizations recognize the benefits of sponsorship and remain indefinitely.

NOPI does not require fiscally sponsored organizations to become a standalone organization; however, it is available to participate in the process through technical assistance and continued back-office support throughout each phase of the nonprofit lifecycle.
