Mazlo Banking Transition Guide

Guidance for our fiscally sponsored programs.

On Monday, June 22, 2026, Mazlo is transitioning its bank from Regent Bank to Midland States Bank (MSB) to strengthen the platform's security, compliance, and long-term stability.

What Mazlo's Transition to MSB Unlocks

With this transition, Mazlo is building a stronger financial foundation for nonprofits and fiscal sponsors.

This new banking partnership enables:

  • Expanded banking capabilities in the future
  • Continued fraud protection and FDIC insurance
  • A more secure and scalable infrastructure designed for nonprofit financial management

What Will Change

Banking Details

Your organization will receive new account and routing numbers.

After opening your new Midland account on June 22, 2026, your old Regent account will remain active through July 15, 2026. During this period, incoming funds will continue to be received and automatically transferred to your new Midland account while you update external parties with your new banking details.

Card Details

All existing Mazlo cards will be canceled when the account owner initiates the bank account transition.

Once the account transition is complete:

  • Card users will receive an email to log into Mazlo and enter their information.
  • For greater compliance, Mazlo will request that all cardholders provide their date of birth, the last 4 digits of their SSN, and their physical mailing address (an address is only requested for physical cards).
  • Once cardholders enter their information, new cards will be issued.
  • Virtual cards will be immediately available for use, while physical cards will be mailed to the entered address and should arrive within 14 business days.

🚀Action Required
Any recurring subscriptions linked to your existing Mazlo debit cards must be updated as soon as you receive your new card number/s.

Access During Account Transition

During your transition window (approximately 12–24 hours):

  • Your Mazlo account will be in view-only mode.
  • Account balances may temporarily appear as $0 while funds are being transferred.
  • No transactions will post during this time (they will process after completion).

Your funds remain secure throughout this process.

What Will Not Change

The core Mazlo experience will remain the same.

The following will not change or require updates of any kind as a result of this account transition:

  • Mazlo Donation campaigns or recurring subscriptions through Mazlo
  • Historical financial records
  • All other organization and project data (contacts, codes, grants, etc)
  • Checks already pending deposit
  • Your Mazlo platform dashboard and experience

Prepare for Your Account Transition

Step 1. Prepare External Accounts and Payments

Create a list of all external parties and systems that use your current Regent banking or card details.

This includes:

  • Donors or funders who send funds directly to your account
  • Systems used to send or manage payments (e.g., payroll, ACH services, donation platforms, vendors)
  • Recurring subscriptions tied to Mazlo cards

🚀Action Required
Any recurring subscriptions linked to your existing Mazlo debit cards must be updated as soon as you receive your new card number/s.

To prepare, we recommend tracking:

  • Payment type (bank account or card)
  • Recurring payment dates
  • Associated platform or vendor
  • Internal owner responsible for updates

Review a sample preparation checklist to help organize this process.

Step 2. Prepare Internal Team and Communications

Notify your internal team and any relevant stakeholders of the upcoming transition so they can prepare to:

  • Update banking details with external partners
  • Replace card details for recurring expenses
  • Plan around the temporary downtime during transition

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is Mazlo changing banking partners?

Mazlo is transitioning to Midland States Bank to strengthen compliance, enhance security and provide long-term stability.

Will my banking details change?

Yes. Your organization will receive new account and routing numbers.

Will check deposits change?

Check deposits will continue to work as they do today. However, the endorsement requirements have been updated. Checks must now be endorsed with:

  • “For mobile deposit only at Midland States Bank”
  • The account name
  • No signature (checks signed by anyone other than the authorized signer on the account may be rejected)

This ensures checks are accepted by MSB after the account transition.

Will donation links change?

No. Donation links will remain the same.

Will incoming funds be interrupted?

No funds will be lost. Transactions during the transition window may be delayed by approximately one day.

Is our money safe during the transition?

Yes. Funds remain secure and protected by fraud monitoring and FDIC insurance.

How will the card reissuance process work?

Mazlo will manage the card reissuance process end-to-end.

All existing cards will be canceled at the start of the account transition and reissued directly to cardholders. Cardholders will receive an email with instructions to log in and complete the steps required to activate their new card.

Why do cardholders need to provide personal information to receive a new card?

As part of the transition to Midland States Bank, additional identity verification is required.

Cardholders will be asked to provide their date of birth and last four digits of their SSN to verify their identity before a new card can be issued. This is due to updated compliance and security requirements from the new banking partner.

How long will cards be unavailable during the transition?

Card usage will be temporarily unavailable during the transition window.

While the transfer itself can be completed in as little as ~3 hours when initiated early in the day, please plan for up to 24 hours to ensure a smooth experience and allow for any processing variability.
